We are seeking a high-performance Drag Reducing Agent (DRA) that excels in reducing friction for long-distance pipeline applications. Key requirements include exceptional shear degradation resistance suitable for multi-stage pumping systems and stability in both saline and alkaline water environments. Our project focuses on developing a DRA solution for large-scale mining water transport systems in Chile, catering to industrial and desalinated water pipelines. The specifications involve flow rates of 2,500 – 3,500 m³/h, pipeline diameter around 28 inches, and lengths varying between 40 to 200 km. The water type we are dealing with includes industrial water and desalinated seawater with a pH range of approximately 8 to 9. Pumping power requirements can reach up to 200 MW, so performance is critical.
